Long Night of the Underworlds on June 17th, 2017 Tickets are now on sale!

LNdU

In summer, 2017, Berlin Underworlds will be 20 years old. We would love you to celebrate this anniversary with us!

On Saturday, 17th of June, from 5 p.m. to 1 or 2 a.m. we will be opening all of our locations onthe U 8 underground line between “Paracelsus-Bad” and “Hermannplatz” stations; these are otherwise only open during our guided tours.

We will show you – from north to south – the following facilities:

  • the operation bunker at Teichstraße
  • the bunker at Pankstraße
  • the Blochplatz bunker
  • the former underground toilet at Behmstraße
  • the bunker at Humboldthain
  • the Myth of Germania exhibition
  • the bunker at Gesundbrunnen
  • the AEG-Tunnel
  • the brewery cellars near Bernauer Straße
  • the Fichtebunker in Kreuzberg.

Our “Berlin Underworlds Association” tells of Berlin's development into an industrial metropolis, the construction of the underground infrastructure, the megalomania of the Nazis and their “Germania” project, of tales of survival in the bunkers during the Second World War, of the division of the city and the escapes under the wall from East to West.

  • A snack bar is available in various locations.

Due to the preparation and wrapping up of the event, on the 17th and 18th of June, no tours will take place. The exhibition, “Myth of Germania – Vision and Crime” and the Museum in the Old Waterworks will also be closed during the day on both dates.

Myth of Germania – Vision and Crime Permanent Exhibition

Teaserbild Ausstellung

Our exhibition “Myth of Germania – Vision and Crime” is open all year.
April trough October: Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
November through March: Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The vast project of planning Hitler’s Germania was not meant merely to serve Berlin’s citizens with a modernized habitat, but rather as a representation of the Nazi regime's sheer power. With a project that seemed inconceivable to most, the foundations were supported by Speer’s policies of expulsion, deportation and slave labour. By combining these factors, we can see how the attempted development of this new metropolis was inevitably linked with crimes against humanity.

The multimedia exhibition “Myth of Germania – Vision and Crime”, invites visitors to independently explore this complex topic. You can find more information about the exhibition here
