A second, extended and revised application to grant historical protection has been handed over to the City of Berlin's Institution for the Protection of Historic Landmarks. Our intention is to have the so-called Zombeck Tower (a high-level bunker) situated on the area of some former German Railway Workshops in the district of Friedrichshain be listed as a historic monument. The first application, it is said, has been lost within the never-ending mills of bureaucracy. Berlin Underworlds' Association – Registered Society proclaims on September 4th, 2003, it's reservations about development plans at the District Council Hall of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. These would realize de facto a demolition of this unique monument.
